CHTP Open Book Refresher Exam, Policy information, and Reference Materials Needed for Study

Effective January 1, 2008: CHTP designees are now required to take an open-book refresher exam. This exam will be available online. The CHTP refresher exam is to ensure designees understand the new technologies emerging within the industry and not necessarily to examine the knowledge of the designee regarding these technologies. The CHTP refresher exam will be given every 4 years or every two maintenance cycles. Current CHTP designees will be required to make a passing grade of 75 percent to pass the refresher exam. If a designee should fail the refresher exam, they will be allowed 90 days to retake the exam, if the designee fails a second time, they will lose the designation, must remove the designation from their name, re-apply and sit for the CHTP examination again. About the Exam: The CHTP Open Book Refresher Exam consists of fifteen (15) questions. Passing is 75%. Each designee will need to answer twelve (12) questions correctly in order to pass the refresher exam

System Requirements for Online Exams

High speed internet access is a must and can be given from a wired or wireless internet access point. Your operating system must be a Windows based operating system. Compatible formats currently include Windows XP Windows Professional and Windows Vista. You will be required to download and install a software called QuestionMark secure. The software must be installed to take the online refresher exam as it provided a secure testing environment and data transfer. The software may be removed after the assessment is complete.
